About the Recipe

These are the cutest little candy corn cookies, flavored as a vanilla sugar cookie! They are surprisingly super easy to make, so don't worry. No special baking equipment necessary!

Ingredients

1 cup softened butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/8 tsp salt

Orange: about 12 drops yellow, 4 red

Yellow: about 12 drops yellow

*these you can alter to your liking

Preparation

Step 1

Begin by creaming your butter and sugar together. Then slowly add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well. Sift in your flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a solid but soft dough forms.

Step 2

Once the dough is formed, divide it into 3 parts (one dough color, one yellow, and other orange).

Step 3

In a 9x5in pan, add some parchment paper so you can remove the dough later! This is important!. Then begin to layer first the dough color, then orange color, then yellow. Spread it using your fingers by patting it down and moving accordingly to cover the whole space. Refrigerate it for about 1-2 hours.

Step 4

Remove the layered dough from the pan carefully. Cut about 1/4in thick strips (or however thick you like!). Using those strips, create small triangles by cutting diagonally. Place them on your baking tray.

Step 5

Bake at 350F for about 8 minutes. Add sugar and sprinkles to top!! Enjoy!
