About the Recipe
If you are a chai spice fan, these cookies will become your new favorite. They are autumn in a cookie. The recipe is based off the famous Taylor Swift's, with my own chai frosting recipe to top! Chill them in the fridge for a bit, as this makes them taste better and feel even softer when you bit into them!

Ingredients
Dough
1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temp)
1/2 cup avocado oil (or vegetable/canola)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 powdered sugar
1 egg (room temp)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp chai spice (or tea bag)
Icing (optional)
2 cups powdered sugar
4 tbsp milk
1 tbsp chai spiceÂ
Chai spice: 4 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp ginger, 1 tsp cardamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and all spice and clove, 1/8 tsp black pepper (use half for the batter and half for frosting)
Preparation
Step 1: For the cookie dough, begin by beating your softened butter with the oil, sugar, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
Step 2: Next sift in your flour, salt, baking soda, and 1 tbsp of the chai spice.
Step 3: Mix until a soft dough forms and refrigerate for 1 hour.Â
Step 4: Roll out to 12 dough balls and flatten a bit. Line a tray with parchment paper and bake the cookies at 350F for about 10 minutes.Â
Step 5: While the cookies cool, make the frosting. Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and chai spice until frosting is formed. Decorate the cookies and chill for a bit to harden the frosting! Enjoy!
