About the Recipe

While I know there are not many German chocolate fans out there, I swear these cookies will change your mind. They have become my absolute favorite cookie to make and I am not even a coconut fan either. Not only are they a quick bake, but also are very easy to put together!

Ingredients

1 cup flour

1/2 cup natural cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1 stick of unsalted butter (at room temp)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cup lightly toasted sweetened coconut shreds

1 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Toast your coconut shreds for 5 min at 350F.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix and sift your flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together.

Step 3

In another small bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown and white sugar together. Then add your egg and vanilla extract. Mix together and slowly add to your dry ingredients bowl. Once the mixture is combined, fold in the toasted coconut shreds, chocolate chips, and pecans (optional).

Step 4

Bake at 350F for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
