Browned Butter Sea Salt Rice Krispies

Ingredients


8oz salted butter

1 bag of marshmallows

1 box of Rice Krispy cereal


Decoration

array of valentine sprinkles

white chocolate chips (melted)


Preparation

STEP 1: Begin by melting the butter in a large pot. Stir around gently until the butter completely melts and begins to darken in color. Once it is browned, you will see small brown flakes on the bottom. Immediately remove from heat once you see this.


STEP 2: Add the marshmallows once the butter is browned. Add the pan back carefully on low low heat and mix until the marshmallow has melted well.


STEP 3: Add the Rice Krispies off heat and mix well with a spatula. Mix in some sprinkles here if you like!


STEP 4: Turn the mixture over into a 13x9in pan and pat down with a spatula. Leave to cool and harden.


STEP 5: Using your heart shaped cutter, cut out hearts in the pan. Melt some white chocolate chips (if doing by microwave - do in 15 second intervals. Once the chips start to melt just a little bit, take out of the microwave and stir harshly until it completely melts).


STEP 6: Dip a side of the heart into the melted chocolate and add the sprinkles! Enjoy!
